Late Wednesday night, something strange and unprecedented happens: Osomatsu gets a message on his tablet.

good evening fraternal. we have a proposition for you.

throughout these weeks, we've been observing you. all of you, but you specially. we've noticed that you're a good person to talk to. you're someone who puts others at ease. that's a handy trait. when you first got here, you asked us an interesting question. "are we getting paid?" while we were baffled by it, we've come to understand the importance of monetary motivation. the situation has changed, and while you will not get paid for this exercise itself, we're willing to offer you some compensation for another task.

though we're able to observe and monitor, there are a lot of you, and it gets difficult at times. we would like you to, in exchange for this special incentive, report to us about the other patients actions. if someone's talking about something that could disrupt the exercise, or if someone's acting noticeably off, let us know. give us a rundown of meetings, if you all choose to have more. that's incredibly important.

we may ask you do to something for us, every so often, but this is mostly it. just information.

[Osomatsu's tablet has mostly remained unused, since he found out early on that it couldn't connect to the net. what was up with that? lame!

so, imagine his surprise when he finds this tablet blink to life and signal that he's received a message. he stares at the notification for a few seconds, before curiosity forces him to click on the message and read the contents.

it's... it's from the Transmitter! his eyes widen, and he reads it over several times before taking it with him to his bed. he... he needs to sit down. after about thirty minutes of rereading, fretting, considering, he finally decides to reply]

Are you asking me to spy on everyone? For "compensation?"

we are. it's what you wanted, right?

[he stares at the reply for a while again, marveling at how quick the reply was. he considers his next words carefully. these people, he barely knows them, but he's made such good friends. could he really spy on them?]

What sort of compensation?

[transmittable]

[ Each reply is quick. A few seconds. ]

monetary. you like money. you need money. and we're willing to give it to you.

[holy crap... money. they were offering him money. Osomatsu practically salivates at the word.

but he's still wary. after all, these people... some of them were becoming his friends. what would they think if they found out he was spying on them?

at the same time, if he could stop a murder before it happened, he might be considered a hero? augh! this was messed up! why him? why give him this task?

okay... he needs to make a decision. about ten minutes later, his reply is sent]

Okay.

[ Congratulations, Osomatsu. You're employed. ]

[wow. a job. as a snitch. pretty fitting, all things considered. he feels low though]

So, what do I do now? Do I report to you everyday, or what?

Monday, week 4

[Osomatsu's been... avoiding checking in, because he's still a bit nervous. but he said he was going to do this, and he doesn't want to know what might happen to him if he changes his mind. so, late Monday night, before bed, he sends a message to the Transmitter, or the Risen, whoever is there]

i talked to hanekawa the other day after she did that weird cat thing
she was completely normal for a while but by the time of the trial... the cat came back
thats a song reference
otherwise she seems to be doing ok? i dont talk to her too regularly
learned asgore is a dad, he adopted a human child apparently

[he considers telling his captors that the game room is lame, and needs better games. but then decides against it]

cat came back the very next day etc.

don't be afraid to keep on branching out. no one will suspect you of doing anything but being friendly.

inspiring's spoken to me about that a little. has anything regarding it impacted him?

i don't anticipate him being "tipped" easily.
he IS a really nice guy.
keep an eye on him. keep an eye on anyone who seems distressed by their new memories, in fact.

that wasn't intended. we aren't giving memories back, so much as they're returning slowly.
i didn't want anyone's memories to be messed with.

Tuesday, week 5

[so, Osomatsu's been scarce this week, because he's been trying to find out information that might be useful to himself. but what actually brings him to contact the Transmitter, or the Risen, or whoever is today's incentive.

well, Rin said that anyone could talk to them at any time, right? something like that, so Osomatsu's going to bring this up]

why are you bringing hostages into this?? they didnt do anything to deserve this!

[ Clarification first. How long after the incentive is Osomatsu sending this? ]

[probably an hour after]

[transmittable]

[ There's a delay unlike the last times he's texted. It's only a few minutes, but it's still noticeable. ]

[the delay goes unnoticed at first, because Osomatsu is too enraged. he's been... thinking a lot about this role he's been given, and he's finding that he's terrible at it. what information has he provided that's been useful at all? and now, with the hostages incentive, he's wondering why he's bothering to help these people]

Thursday, week 6

[guess who forgot to check in this week until now? this guy. honestly, he's terrible at this job]

i didnt see any weird reactions to the incentive this week
mostly people were just angry or uninterested
heard something else though
kashimas hostage was apparently already dead
she had a dream about them

that's fine. can't report what there isn't.
i spoke to her about that a little.
what did she say about it?

she said her hostage was murdered by uh
guardian? i think that was the word she used
not by A guardian, just guardian, like a title
and she said she didnt recall him going missing before

it's just gaps in her memory, nothing greater to worry about.
what's got it so on your mind?

i guess im just thinkin about the other hostages
she said that it didnt seem likely that you guys would bother bringing people back from the dead just for an incentive
i kinda agree
but then i dont know you guys very well or what youre trying to do
and the hostages are gone now so its just kinda moot
