My work is what drives me. I have my goals, and they align with those of the Corporation. Saving the world their way is one way to achieve what I want.

I have to wonder, however, what drives you to do all this. The collective you've mentioned... Do their goals just align with yours for now, or are those goals one and the same?

they didn't always align, but now i guess you'd say they're one in the same. it helps all of us. what we're trying to do. once this goal is met, we'll go our separate ways.

That's how it is between Umbrella and myself as well, at least nowadays. Perhaps that's why the 'former' is there in my occupation - after all, if our goals came to pass, I would have no reason to remain at my station.

That's what I'm going to choose to believe for now, I think. Until other explanations present themselves.

It's less that I genuinely care about parting ways with Umbrella one way or another, and more that I think we'll be...incompatible, after everything is over. But the sentiment is similar, I suppose.

Sometimes things are what they are. Because protocol dictates that they are, or because circumstances do, or because really, we don't get a say in this situation one way or another and things can just be that way because you've decided that it's so.

I'm not going to be angry with you if your answer is occasionally "I can't tell you," in other words. There's no point in it.

There hasn't been a single thing I've done that isn't for me in some way, and I prefer it that way.

I'm not interested in making friends here, and that includes any correspondence I may have with you. That much is entirely true. At the same time, I'm not interested in being on entirely negative terms with you, either.

blunt as it is, it's also correct. we're not here to make friends. we would prefer you all stay here. we would prefer a lot of things. but we know friends isn't something anyone should be after.
