Mole Check-in
Late Wednesday night, something strange and unprecedented happens: Sakura gets a message on her tablet.
good evening committed. we have a proposition for you.
during our observation of the exercise, we've come to see you could be an incredible asset to us. you know how to talk to others and observe. additionally, you have something here most others don't, and that's a person on the inside who you would like to keep specially safe. we are of course talking about rin tohsaka. the anxiety of having your own family in this situation must be unbearable. i can understand. that's why we're offering you, in exchange for a service, protection for her.
though we're able to observe and monitor, there are a lot of you, and it gets difficult at times. we would like you to, in exchange for this special incentive, report to us about the other patients actions. if someone's talking about something that could disrupt the exercise, or if someone's acting noticeably off, let us know. give us a rundown of meetings, if you all choose to have more. that's incredibly important.
we may ask you do to something for us, every so often, but this is mostly it. just information.
what do you say? think it over, as you'll have one chance to accept, and if you do we promise your sister to be protected. you're a smart and cunning girl. we believe you'll make the right decision.

Instead she lasts five minutes.]
What protections?
Will you keep her from being hurt?
no subject
that's what we mean by protection. we can keep her alive.

How often would I be required to contact you?
no subject
you can contact us by text or phone, whichever is easiest for you.
no subject
I won't turn down the invitation
[There was nothing wholesome about her from the start]
but am I correct in assuming my actions might lead to someone else's death?
no subject
all you'll be doing is making sure we can run this exercise smoothly.
so
it is possible more will. but it's entirely possible they would already die as well without your interference.
no subject
Since I'll be assisting you, am I allowed to know the purpose of this exercise? I no longer have incentive to end it prematurely.

Week 4
[She'll jump right into it then, quick and methodical in her statements]
There wasn't a meeting this week, I assume because many of the more sympathetic Patients were stressed by the incentive. Asgore and Lovecraft in particular, along with Greed.
[A pause in typing]
Though given the other Patient's attempts to keep them from acting, I couldn't say if they'll take initiative. Asgore in particular is well loved by our group. He has many friends. Honestly, I think only George-san dislikes him at this point.
But besides that, there are more concentrated efforts to solve the mystery of this hospital. Kashima-san has a theory you're using some method to implant new rooms into the hospital, and given her relentless pursuit of the truth every time we talk, I've decided to keep an extra eye on her. If there's anything to find, she'll likely be the first to find it.
I do have a question, if you'd indulge me. During the incentive, you played the sound of waves and water. Was there a reason for that?
no subject
[ A pause on this end, too. ]
i think your assessments are correct, but you can never be too careful.
the waves and water were due to familiarity. it's something we have experience with.
[ ... ]
the risen tend towards what they find familiar, more often than not.
[ ...Ah. ]
no subject
I see. I had wondered if the effects were meant to attract the attentions of specific Patients, besides the incentives themselves.
[Another pause]
Is there any point in the theatrics during the weekly incentives? They could just as easily be given to us over the tablets.
no subject
[ ... ]
obviously you can't say any of this to the rest of the group. while there's still a lot i can't say, the rules are a little different for you now.
no subject
[God, she's relieved, and that should make Sakura even more nervous]
I can never tell who I'm talking to sometimes.
But I have no reason to share this with anyone. Cooperation only works in as far as I... cooperate.
[Her chance to bow out of this arrangement has passed. Sakura has no illusions about what might happen if she's caught helping the Patients]
no subject
they're not good with the tablets, you see. they don't like using them.
no subject
But I admit, it's easier knowing I'm talking to you.
[A pause]
I had a question, if that's alright.
Just how old are the Risen? From what you've said, they sound aged.
no subject
i don't really know. their age is hard to explain. are? i don't even know how to refer to them like that.
time's worked really differently for them for decades. i don't know if they could or would count their age in how many years they've existed or how old they feel.

Week 5
We had a meeting after Nachetanya-san's death to consolidate whatever information was gathered from you or the Risen. The second meeting was yesterday after the Risen's attempts to coerce us.
[Someone might not be happy about that]
From what I've gathered, keys are being discovered in the facility. McGillis-san believes there's a specific pattern to finding them, based on the position of the room themselves. He'll be testing the theory come next week, I assume. At first no one knew what the keys opened, but one of them leads to a storage of weapons, including firearms and grenades. I don't think the group came to a consensus on what to do with them yet.
[A pause]
Symbols have also been discovered in the art room and the laundry room. The leading theory is that they do something, so there will be a concentrated effort to find more. [A much longer pause here, and then Sakura continues as if relenting something] QQ-san volunteered to search for more, though I'm sure everyone who attended the meeting will be on lookout. I'll keep an eye on her if you think it's necessary.
And as far as the hostage situation goes, some in the group are voicing dissent and assume the hostages can't be real. But I doubt it's going to keep the more desperate from carrying out Rule #7. Only a handful of people seemed disinterested. George-san even said it might be too risky to assume anything but the worst.
Please let me know if you need any elaboration.
no subject
should any decision be made on the weapons, report that to me.
keep an eye on exploratory. at least initially. express interest in helping her investigate, so you can see what she finds early.
stay inside thursday night. no harm will come to the hostages. i'm sure of it.
no subject
[a pause]
So the hostages are real then?
no subject
it depends on what you mean by real.
no subject
Was any of what I just mentioned untrue?

are they in the hospital?
